Recent
developments in contemporary architecture have prompted new approaches to
glazing treatments.
One of the new directions which Frans Kat has developed is the combined use
of laminated, fused and etched glass. These panels are free of the black,
lead lines which are so characteristic of stained glass.
The panels utilize white, etched and clear areas to create pattern and
design. Coloured, beveled and fused glass pieces can also be laminated onto
the main sheet for further effect. The panels are strong and very secure as
the base glass can be a laminated safety glass, suitable for many
applications.
