An
article in the Guardian Messenger newspaper of may 18th 2005, tells part
of the story behind a controversy dating back as far as 1986, when Frans
Kat was first commissioned to do the design for the stained glass window
of a crucified, Aboriginal Christ.
The first window depicting an Aboriginal Christ walking on water for the
same church in the previous year, 1985, made news headlines
Australia-wide as well as in Papua New Guinea.
